🚀 How to Create & Manage Backups

1. Create a New Backup

   • You can do this from your Opensolr Control Panel UI, or programmatically via the Automation REST API.
   • 

2. Enable Daily Backups (NOT enabled by default!)

   • To enable Daily Backups, you can use the Backup API to create a cron job.

   • For best practice, we recommend:

     • Using a Production Opensolr Account for your live indexes (where you require backup management).
     • Using a secondary Dev Account for your dev/test/QA/UAT environments.
     • And of course, harnessing Team Management to connect your dev and prod teams as needed.

3. Restore with Confidence

   • Whether it’s your configuration files or a full index restore, it’s just a click away.
   • Please note that it may take a long time to restore backups for large Solr indexes.

4. Know Your Retention Window

   • All backup data is kept on our servers for 7 days. Need it longer? Download what you need, when you need it.

5. Full Control, Your Way

   • You can always opt in (or out!) of the Opensolr Backup Manager on the pricing page.
   • Fully customize your order for the perfect fit—no extra baggage.
